Electricity For SWRO in Seribu Islands Not Yet Proposed

Since there is no any party making a proposal to Jakarta Industry and Energy Department, the Sea Water Reverse Osmosis (SWRO) device in Karya and Untung Jawa Island has not been electrified.

Head of Seribu Islands Industry and Energy Sub-Dept, Meilinda Sagala conveyed the electricity connection to all government facilities must be clear.

“ Jakarta Industry and Energy Dept will give a recommendation to PLN after knowing the owners who have proposed ,” she expressed, Wednesday (11/11).

He continued, PLN intends to evaluate electricity supply needed until its infrastructure cost. Owner must pay off to PLN first beforehand connection done.

“So don’t tell me Industry and Energy Department complicates you. The all facilities demand for electricity on the island is assured, "she asserted.

Related to the filing of the electricity authority and policy, Head of Seribu Islands Water Management Sub-Dept, Rischal A Pasombo said that his side has no kind of authority, budget or policy.

"The authority lies in Section Head of Water Management for Water Management Dept," he told.

However, there is no such budget for maintenance since the reverse osmosis (RO) treatment authority changed from previously Industry and Energy Sub-Dept handed over to Water Management Sub-Dept.

"That’s our problem, where the device has not been fixed due to unvailable fund. The fund proposal itself must be made by dept head, instead of us" he finished.
